Having Radical Faith

by Naquan on August 18, 2009

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1).  What do you believe God for?  Do you have faith that He can do it?

moses part red seaIn my opinion, many people say, “I have faith that God can do all things” but do they really?  It’s easy for a person to say they have faith In the Lord when everything is going well or when one believes God for very little.  I believe God is calling His people to a new level and that new level requires a new level of faith – radical faith.

When you say, “God is the same God yesterday and today”, what does this mean to you?  Do you believe God is more than able to separate a body of water just as He did for Moses for YOU?  Do you believe God can hold the sun still and make the moon stop for 24 hours just for YOU?  Do you believe God can stop rain from falling for 3 and a half years just for YOU?

When I say I believe God is the same yesterday and today, it means I believe God is able to do these things and exceedingly more.  Am I saying that you should have the same measure of faith I have?  No. Why? Because just as God is strengthening and developing my faith in Him, I know He’s doing the same with many others.  I’ll be the first to say I have a LONG way to go spiritually and need a lot of strengthening and sharpening when it comes to faith.

However, I am saying that as Christians we need to have the type of faith that believes God for radical things, even if it goes against nature.  Who would think to pray and ask the Lord to hold rain for 3 and a half years?  I know I wouldn’t have thought such a thing because rain is just something that happens.  Why would God hold up rain for me?  But He did for Elijah.

2 Chronicles 16:9 lets us know that the eyes of the Lord searches the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.  The Bible lets us know that we have not because we ask not (James 4:2), so what does this mean?  You can pray for anything and if you have faith, you will receive it (Matthew 21:22).

This means you can pray for a mountain in your life to be moved and if you pray and believe it, that mountain will be moved.  This also means that as Elijah did, if you pray earnestly that it wouldn’t rain, if it pleases God, He will do it.  God seeks to show himself.  God searches the whole earth looking to show his magnificence and great power to those who earnestly seeks Him.

So now the question is, “Are you believing God for the impossible” “Are you believing God for radical things” ?

In my own life, I execute the four things listed below when I’m believing God to move mightily on my behalf and I want to share them with you:

  1. Ask: bring your petitions (request) before the Lord.  The Lord already knows what you need, but as a child going to their father, He wants you to ask Him.  I also recommend finding a scripture that speaks on what you’re believing God for.  For example, if you’re believing God to heal your body from a sickness, you might want to bring up the scripture that states, “With his stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5).  It helped me.  Read, “God is a Healer” to see how.
  2. Have radical faith: the type of faith that believes God no matter what the circumstances look like.  The type of faith that ask God for things that people typically wouldn’t ask God for.
  3. Believe and don’t doubt: Believe in your heart that it’s already done in Jesus name and praise Him in advance for it.
  4. Last but certainly not least, receive.  If you can’t receive, you won’t get.

Start believing God to do the impossible.  Start believing and asking God for things that naturally doesn’t make any sense.  Believe God for 100 PERCENT COMPLETE HEALING AND WHOLENESS, believe God for checks in the mail, believe God for promotions on the job, believe God for $0 balances with creditors, believe God to slice bills in half, BELIEVE GOD FOR THINGS THAT’S CRAZY AND IMPOSSIBLE IN THE NATURAL  REALM.  If God can separate a body of water, If God can turn water into wine, If God can say, “Let there be light” and there was light…how much more are you (being his child) able to ask God for these things and He does it.

I want to share something with you.  I recently received a bill.  Don’t know how I’m going to pay it but I told the Lord, “I believe you Lord, I believe you over my situation and I’m believing you for radical things”.  Last week, I received a bill in the mail.  I didn’t want to open it but I did.  To my surprise, instead of charges added to the bill, there were credits applied towards the bill.  I was shocked and I honestly didn’t know how OR why the bill decreased and did not incurred charges, especially since I’ve been using the service.  However, even when I ask such a foolish question, I do know how it happened: through Jesus Christ.  When you believe God for the radical things, he will do radical things in your life.  Things that don’t make no sense will happen.  Crazy, weird, abnormal things will happen in your life and it’s all to the glory of Jesus Christ.

Be encouraged today.  Don’t be afraid to ask God for crazy-radical-just don’t make sense kinds of things.  God wants to do such things in your life; He just requires you to ask Him, have radical faith, believe and receive in Jesus name.

If you say, “I don’t have faith” or “how do I get radical faith”, I want you to know that as Christians we all have some measure of faith; in my opinion, the radical faith comes into play when you start believing and asking God for things that goes against nature and don’t make sense in the natural realm.  Pray; pray and ask God to increase and sharpen your faith.  That’s what I’m doing.  If you ask God for this, He will do it; after all, is not being a Christian heavily tangent upon your faith that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and rose again?  God wants to increase your faith, so ask Him for it.

Be blessed in the Lord and start believing God for radical things in your life.  I’m expecting to hear some awesome testimonies in the Christian testimonies section of the site.  Be blessed in Jesus name, amen.

God has never let me down even once. I am grateful and through prayer and faith in Him I overcame many obstacles. I am living proof that God Works the impossible. I was supposed to be born dead, but my parents had such faith in God that I Was born without any trouble..There isnt a scientific explanation.Right Now im At a point in my life where im falling apart with depression. I moved far away from my loved ones and the place my heart belongs to 9 months ago. I cry every night, I cant sleep, Im failing classes and sometimes Im even scared of living. But deep inside i know this Is God’s test that I must overcome. From past experiences, I have developed ever-growing faith in Him, and Im Praying every day that he will take me back home. Even my closest family members tell me its like a 1 in a million chance to move back, but radical fate in Him has done impossible things for me before. Plz pray 4 me. Thank You for such a true an inspirational article, and thank you for Sharing your experience. I know that really soon I shall be testimony of God’s miracle once again

I am greatly encouraged by this article on radical faith. I was going to close the computer but i could not and ended up reading the article very early morning. We as a ministry are believing God for great miracles to start a school among the disadvantaged in Northern Kenya to sponsor over 300 children and acquire land for building the school and also build the school. It is so clear that God will do it and beyond our own expectations.
We are also believing God for big miracles to increase our sponsored children from 6,722 children in 2012 to 125,000 plus in 2017 in Kenya and in other countries. it looks crazy but we believe in God who knows impossibilities. Along with this we have other goals to increase our Micro-finance clients from 1550 to 11,000 by 2017 and our funding from millions to Billions to His glory.
We have to finish building our schools and other facilities, specifically we need to finish a multi-purpose hall that needs over $160,000, Dormitories for boys and girls well over $2 millions, classroom blocks well over $2 million, all in 2 campusses, staff housing of $ 500,000 plus. All buildings and facilities required are $44,000,000 for now and in future we are believing God to build a university that will prepare a people that will change our nation and the world for the glory of God. Nothing is impossible with God. On a personal note, I have nothing to worry for I know God will do far exceedingly above what I am able to ask or imagine according to His power that works powerfully in me. I have to clear all my debts and be able to build on my plots and also replace the car I am driving with a more reliable car. My daughter will be going to the university in two years and the brother in another two years following and I have nothing to worry as I am sure God will provide debt free in the very best universities in the US. Even as their brother grows and joins them in eight years thereafter. Glory to God. I am greatly encouraged and I will live to experience extra-ordinary things. I will walk in the favor of God and access places that ordinarily are not accessible being in favor with god and with men. Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised. Today I am meeting government officials and I am sure I will experience special favor with God.

Believe God for the impossible, discover things that others have not as God wants to manifest His power through you. I am a vessle of God to experience the extra-ordinary, exceptional, great and mighty things that God has promised us when we call on Him. Jer 33:3.

Wonderful reminder of who we are and the authority we have in Christ. We can do as Job said “Declare a thing,” ask God for anything if we have the faith(radical)that you wrote about in this article, and we will most definitely receive what we ask God for. I’ve been tole by a minister that God said He would give me anything I ask Him(God) for, but His problem with me is was that I ask Him for small things. That was then, but this is now and after reading your article I am really going out on a limb. So much so until others are going to no longer hear me talk about how good and gteat God is, they are going to see it because of the radical things I am going to ask and believe Him for and receive the answer when I ask in prayer before He manifest i in the natural realm. Thank you so much, be blessed.

Am really encouraged by this article of radical faith. To be honest, I have always being doubting God concerning my exams. I wrote recently in my wassce. I am really scared of performing poorly and not getting admission into the university this year. But I have been really encouraged by this article of yours..it’s been a life struggle battling with addictions of pornography and masturbation but all the same I am still believing God for deliverance. I hope to share my testimony one day with people who are facing this kind of addictions and hopefully they will learn and be encouraged. For my exams results I know it is already done and that my grades will come out as a shocker so i will continue to put my faith in God. Thank you so much for this words of encouragement

Thank you so much for this Naquan and God bless you! God has done many great things for me when they seemed impossible…like raising my SAT score from 2080 to 2200 in 2 months when I prayed for a higher score, giving me an acceptance to a prestigious university when I didn’t know if I was going to get in or not, helping me find very important things that were lost, and the list goes on. Please pray for me as I prepare to apply to medical school. Praise the Lord forever! He will move your mountains, don’t give up hope!
